Hyper-competitive tendering

No matter how you slice it, the global financial crisis has led to a contraction in spending, in the private sector in particular. Government is now the single biggest customer still looking to buy.
As a result, ‘competitive tendering' has become hyper-competitive tendering as more and more companies bid for the available pool of government business. In some sectors, the playing field is three to five times more competitive than it was late last year.
